West Karoun’s output to reach 500,000 bpd by end of spring
TEHRAN- Production from six oilfields of West Karoun region in southwestern Iran will reach about 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) by the end of spring, which corresponds to the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-June 21), Shana reported on Saturday quoting an oil official.
Iran's Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Managing Director Seyed Noureddin Shahnazizadeh put the projected output of the six oilfields by the end of spring at 110,000 bpd for South Azadegan, 10,000 bpd for South Yaran, 75,000 bpd for North Azadegan, 110,000 bpd for Yadavaran, 30,000 bpd for North Yaran and about 160,000 bpd for Darkhovin.
While putting the current oil production from West Karoun oilfields at 320,000 bpd, Shahnazizadeh has announced that production from these fields is planned to reach 1.2 million bpd at the final stage, the official website of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) reported.
Based on the latest studies, the in-situ deposit of West Karoun oilfields is estimated to be 67 billion barrels containing both light and crude oils, according to the PEDEC’s managing director.
